Crossing one of the highest passes is the adventure of a lifetime in itself but the scenery in this section is equally enchanting. There are several hiking opportunities from a base at the little seasonal village of Gokyo. These include the glacier, the ice lakes towards the Cho Oyu base camp and the climb to Gokyo Peak (5400m).
