Annapurna Circuit (Trekking over Thorong-La)
 Annapurna Circuit is the most fascinating trekking in the Himalayas allowing you to experience the pleasures of both Middle Hills and Highland walking in one trip. This classic trek takes you to ThorungLa Pass, which is one of the highest walkable passes on Earth, that links two huge valleys of the Himalaya- the Marshyangdi-Manang of central Nepal and Kaligandaki-Lower Mustang to the west. By far the most popular trek in Nepal, it starts from the sub-tropical village of Khudi which is reached after 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. From here the trek follows the Marshyangdi river valley and enters the alpine zone of Manang historically known as Nyshang in the ancient religious books. Nyshang valley is squeezed between the peaks of Annapurna, Manaslu, Pisang, Himluang and many others. The ancient villages of Manangi people present the traditional outlook of Buddhist lifestyle. You follow the popular path over Thorung La pass (5,416m) and descend to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, set amidst a striking high altitude valley. Muktinath is an important spiritual place for people belonging to Bon, Buddhist and Hindu faith. From Muktinath, a day’s walk will take us to Jomsom from where we make our return on a spectacular mountain flight to Pokhara. Please note that the prosperous town of Jomsom is going to be connected by road soon and there are a lot of constructions going on below Jomsom, as part of Nepal’s drive to bring road networks to major villages. With this in view, we have sadly limited our trek itinerary upto Jomsom. We ask you to experience this trek before it's too late as there is another road construction in the pipeline on other sections of the trekking trail. Itinerary
Day 01 : Kathmandu to Khudi by 4W drive (8hrs).Days 02-06 : Trekking to Manang. Days 07-08 : Rest and Exploration. Day 09 : Trek to Thorong phedi. Day 10 : Cross Thorong La at 5420 mtr, arrive in Muktinath. Day 11 : Rest in Muktinath. Day 12 : Trek to Kagbeni. Day 13 : Trek to Jomsom. Day 14 : Fly out from Jomsom. Day 15 : Back to Kathmandu or join for additional trip. |
